Office Open Xml (OOXML) is a standard for writing office business documents, including word processors, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, etc.
The specification was developed by Microsoft and OOXML is currently the standard storage format for MS Office documents (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx). The standard is based on XML as a record format and ZIP as a storage format.
Portable office document record format is important for exchanging documents that can be edited from a word processor.
