According to Directive 2014/55/EU of the European Parliament and the Council of April 16, 2014, on electronic invoicing in public procurement, eInvoicing is a system for replacing paper invoices with electronic ones, that is, a system that invoices that have been issued, forwarded and received in a structured electronic form is automatically processed in e-form.
The main function of eInvoicing is the data one, which refers to the automatic computer processing of the information contained in the invoice, while the secondary (visual) function is the one that is human-readable and serves only for reading the content of the invoice, and not for its computer processing.
