Encrypted communication channels and secure connection channels (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure - HTTPS) is a combination of HTTP and a protocol that provides network security (SSL or TLS).

The protocol for the security of the transport layer (Transport Layer Security - TLS) is a cryptographic protocol that realizes the security of the communication channel, in such a way as to ensure the privacy and integrity of data between two points.

Secure connection has the following properties:

Privacy, which is achieved by using symmetric cryptography, which encrypts the transmitted data

- Authentication - The identity of the parties is ensured by the use of PKI technologies (public and private key technology). Authentication is optional on both sides, but usually required as a minimum on the server side (e-services)

- Reliability, which is ensured since each transmitted message contains integrity checking mechanisms
