WPA2 is a system for protecting wireless local networks (WLAN - eng. Wireless LAN).

It was created after the vulnerabilities and shortcomings of the WLAN security protocols that preceded it: WEP and WPA were discovered. WPA2 includes user authentication and data encryption. Authentication can be performed in business mode - between each device in the network and the access point separately or in private mode - with a common key for all devices (eng. Pre-shared Key). Encryption in the WPA2 system is performed by the CCMP (Counter Mode with Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code Protocol) protocol based on the AES symmetric cryptographic algorithm.
