The Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC), funded by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme, has launched a call for applications for the European Data Spaces Awards 2025—an annual recognition promoting excellence and best practices in the field of European data spaces.
The DSSC aims to support public bodies and companies that seek to establish sovereign data spaces, with the goal of fostering interoperability and secure data sharing in the European Union. The awards are structured in two categories, and eligible data spaces must:
As many data spaces are still in the implementation phase in 2025, the project coordinator may submit the application on behalf of the consortium. Applications can only be submitted by the governance authority of the data space or the project coordinator.
The application deadline is November 7, 2025, with the announcement of nominees scheduled for December 17, 2025. The awards ceremony will take place on February 10–11, 2026, during the DSS2026 conference.
